Opening Story Idea

We had come up with a few story lines based on the genre we choose. At first we had decided that each on us in the group had to come up with an idea for the storyline and discuss it and vote for the best idea. When we came to discuss our idea we found that all our ideas were relatively similar. An element of all our ideas was that we 'could have a character running away from something' like a ghost or monster etc. We believe that we all had this similar idea because is it a typical scene you would see in a horror Movie. 


Our first idea was to have the character being chased by something because the character had witnessed a murder scene had taken place earlier and so this character will be running away from the killer. In our heads we imagined that it would work out well but we did not realise that we were limited because we would not have any professional props or costumes and that we would have to film in the school because it is more continent than taking it of site. 


So further thinking of our story line, we all still wanted to keep the idea of someone being chased. Recently one of our member had a nightmare of being chased/ haunted by a ghost in the school because the school is rather old and seems like a ghost habitat. So we all were keen on proceeding with this ghost haunting idea. So then we had to come up with a reason to why a ghost would be haunting someone in the school so that we would have a basic on what our whole opening would be about.

We first brainstormed some idea on reasons we could use and In the end we came up with a storyline of a boy, is a nerd and is a target of being belittled and bullied and one day he had fallen asleep in school and had a nightmare where he appears in an known place and searching around a girl appears in front of him causing him to run in panic. But the she appears out of no where and appears to be following/Chasing him, this nightmare could have occurred because of the bullying situations he has been through. 


Reason behind the nightmare: We had come up with the idea that a girl from the past in the same school as the male character has also been a victim of bullying in her school days and one day she had been physically abused in the bathroom by a group of students putting her in a coma and thus she is a ghost in the story in the future. 


The idea is that, she follows Nathaniel in his nightmares but we're trying to send two messages to the spectators to make them think 'is the ghost trying to get/hurt him?' or 'is this ghost going to help him in some way?'
